A deep sense of tranquility and relaxation of the body, mind and soul is achieved through this whole body massage using long, soothing strokes. Swedish massage helps to improve the function of your lymph system by relaxing your muscles. The lymph system works to move nutrient-filled fluids and waste around your body. The fluid is moved only through voluntary movements from the muscles. Anyone who has problems from muscular strain will benefit from a Swedish massage. While a Swedish massage works great to help people who suffer from health conditions it also works wonders on people who suffer from everyday troubles and concerns.

  • $160 – Two Hours

Deep tissue massage involves a therapist giving specific “trouble areas” focused attention. Using slow deliberate manner, hard pressure is applied to penetrate into layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin. Since this technique was developed to relieve specific problems in specific locations, it does not have the smoothly rhythmic tempo of other methods; rather, it is more manipulative. It is credited with relieving chronic back pain, back sprains, ongoing pain issues and also with chronic areas of tension, such as in the shoulders.

*Since such deeply penetrative work can be painful in itself, it is not uncommon for a patient to have their original complaint replaced by a new ache, caused by the treatment, which may last for a couple of days. This is nothing to be alarmed about, as realignment of tissue and ligament is going to make your body feel “different”, and often that is interpreted by the nervous system as pain. It will fade.*

The main purpose of Sports Massage Therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. The massage will help prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Sports massage can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether a person is an athlete or a once a week jogger. A portion of your massage time will be dedicated to isolated, assisted and PNF stretching.
